Using suspended luminaires that emit light both downwards (direct) and upwards (indirect) to use the ceiling as a reflector, fills a room with light in a very attractive way and provides low-glare illumination with good uniformity.  Cryselco Lighting offer several products using T5 lamps for this and these are the most popular standard lines available ex-stock or on a relatively short delivery:

Butterfly Slotted

This is the ideal solution for suspended lighting on a tight budget although it is a very good product in its own right.  Direct light is via the opal liner fitted within the perforated lamp cover and from the reflector incorporated into the luminaire.  The reflector is also slotted so that light can go upwards to the ceiling surface.

Matching surface mounted Butterfly fittings without slots in the reflector are also available.

Star

Only 118mm wide and 58mm deep and finished in RAL9006, Star is a very modern looking luminaire.  Downward light is via the semi-specular aluminium louvre and upward light is through a Perspex panel.   For continuous runs the Star can be ordered as a linkable version.

Matching surface mount versions with downward illumination only are available and these look identical to the suspended versions.

Sedna

One of our favourite fittings and costing much less than its looks and quality would suggest.  Extruded aluminium body finished RAL9007 with laser cut steel end-plates, satin VDT louvre downward and with a clear Perspex panel for upward illumination.

Sedna can be supplied with 4 wire or 2 wire suspensions.  Inter-linkable versions consisting of first-in-line, through-wire, and last-in-line luminaires plus a range of dummy inserts, make planning and installing continuous runs a relatively easy process.
